Picturing America Part 2

Stop 2. They were using sledgehammers and they used candles to last them through the day.
Stop 5.  They would put their clothes on pegs and change their clothes so they do not have their clothes dirty.
Stop 8. The drifter was used to make holes. The vertical pipe was mounted between the back and floor of the mine.
Stop 12. They slipped the belt on this pulley. Gears inside the flywheel on the left moved the jaw and the rollers.
I would not like to be a miner because it seems to much work. Even if it does pay a lot it may not be worth it. To be working in the sun and working next to candles would make me tired. You would have to carry around heavy tools.

Picturing America Part 1

The silver arts are the same because they are made of silver. To me to make these arts out of silver is pretty cool. They are also the same because the all have handles. The handles must me hard to make of put on. Also the handles are all curved. They are also the same because they both have a nose to pour drinks into cups.

The silver arts are different because one handle is wooden. the rest is silver. They are also different because they are different sizes. Some big. Some small. The other reason they are different is some of them are just open. The others have lids. Another difference is some have legs. The others do not. The other difference is one of them has a tray to put the arts in. The others do not. They either have legs or nothing.

Quilts 19-20 century

The quilt I like the most is the big quilt on the right. I like that cloth because is has a lot of details. Once you see the details you understand the picture more. It looks a lot better when you can see the details.

Migrant Mother 1936

The thoughts that come to my head when I see the Migrant Mother are will she make it and is she ok. I know that because she puts her hand under her chin. It looks like she is thinking. I can also tell because you see her children crawling around. Another detail is her and her children' s clothes are dirty and dusty.
