Picturing America Part 2

Stop 2. They were using sledgehammers and they used candles to last them through the day.

Stop 5.  They would put their clothes on pegs and change their clothes so they do not have their clothes dirty.

Stop 8. The drifter was used to make holes. The vertical pipe was mounted between the back and floor of the mine.

Stop 12. They slipped the belt on this pulley. Gears inside the flywheel on the left moved the jaw and the rollers.

I would not like to be a miner because it seems to much work. Even if it does pay a lot it may not be worth it. To be working in the sun and working next to candles would make me tired. You would have to carry around heavy tools.
