Chapter 17 "I Pile Up Wood and Go on with Winter"

1. Why did Sam keep cutting wood and stacking it in piles? Sam forgot to get firewood.
2. What does the author mean when she said, "Now I am back where I began. I won't tell it again?" The author means it is raining and Sam can take it easy.
3. What was Sam's standby for breakfast on those cold morning? His breakfast was a hard acorn pancake.
4. What two plants did Sam find under the snow? Sam found teaberry plants and wintergreen plants.
5. What did Sam write on during the snowstorm since he did not have paper? Sam used wood.
